Margherita Pizza

Indulge in the classic flavors of Italy with our homemade Margherita pizza recipe. This simple yet delicious dish showcases the freshness of tomatoes, basil, and mozzarella, all complemented by an olive oil infusion.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce

  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced

  • Handful of fresh basil leaves

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 1/4 cup cannabis-infused olive oil

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp dried oregano

  • Red pepper flakes, to taste (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat your oven to the highest temperature it can reach (usually around 500°F or 260°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven as it preheats.

  2. In a small saucepan, gently heat the cannabis-infused olive oil over low heat and add minced garlic, dried oregano, and (optional) red pepper flakes for added spice. Let the mixture infuse over low heat for 5 minutes before removing from heat and setting aside.

  3. On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness. Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza peel or a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  4. Spread an even layer of tomato sauce over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges for the crust and add sliced mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.

  5. Scatter basil leave pieces over the cheese. Drizzle a little of the cannabis-infused olive oil over the toppings and save some for post-baking as well. Season with a pinch of salt and a sprinkle of black pepper.

  6. Carefully slide the prepared pizza onto the preheated pizza stone in the oven or directly onto the baking sheet if you're not using a stone. Bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.

  7. Once the pizza is out of the oven, drizzle a bit more of the cannabis-infused olive oil over the top, then allow the pizza to cool for a minute before slicing.

  8. Serve your homemade Margherita pizza with an extra sprinkle of fresh basil leaves and a drizzle of the olive oil infusion for added flavor.

Tips

  • Add extra pizza toppings as preferred. Be careful not to overfill the pizza.
