Apple Crisp

Apple Crisps provide the rich and nutty flavor of brown butter, combined with the sweetness of apples to create a heavenly treat

INGREDIENTS

Apple Filling:

  • 6-8 med-sized apples (mix of sweet and tart varieties)

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg

  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Crisp Topping:

  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (choice optional)

  • 1/2 cup cannabutter

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Peel, core, and slice the apples into thin, even slices. In a large bowl, combine the apple slices, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, flour, and lemon juice. Toss until the apples are evenly coated.

  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the oats, flour, brown sugar, salt, and chopped nuts. Pour the melted cannabutter over the dry ingredients and mix until the mixture forms crumbly clusters.

  4. Grease a baking dish and spread the apple mixture evenly in the dish before sprinkling the crisp topping, covering the dish completely.

  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown, and the apples are tender.

  6. Remove from the oven and let it cool before serving.

Tips

  • Use cannabis-infused coconut-oil for a different flavour profile

  • Top with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra sweet treat
