Cheddar and Chive Scones

INGREDIENTS

• 1 1/2 cup cannabutter

• 2 cups all-purpose flour

• 1 tbsp baking powder

• 1/2 tsp salt

• 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

• 1/4 cup chopped chives

• 2/3 cup whole milk

• 1 large egg

• 1 tbsp honey

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix in the cannabutter, shredded cheese, and chopped chives until everything is well uniform.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and honey until uniform. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined and being careful not to overmix.

  4. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Pat it into a 1-inch thick circle. Use a round cutter to cut out scones. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each.

  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the tops are golden brown. Keep an eye on them to prevent over-browning.

  6. Allow the cheddar scones to cool on a wire rack for a few minutes before serving.

TIPS

• For an extra burst of flavor, brush the tops of the scones with melted butter and sprinkle with a pinch of additional shredded cheddar and chopped chives before baking.
