INGREDIENTS

• 2 cups all-purpose flour

• 1 tbsp baking powder

• 1 tsp salt

• 1/4 cup cannabutter, cold and cubed

• 3/4 cup buttermilk, cold

• Optional: Additional melted cannabis-infused butter for brushing

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  3. Add the cold, cubed cannabutter to the dry ingredients. Use a pastry cutter or two forks to cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs. The butter pieces should be about the size of peas.

  4. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and pour in the cold buttermilk. Use a wooden spoon or spatula to gently stir the mixture until a dough begins to form. Be careful not to overmix.

  5. Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Gently pat the dough into a rectangle about 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick. Use a biscuit cutter or the rim of a glass to cut out rounds of dough. Press straight down without twisting to ensure the biscuits rise evenly.

  6. Place the cut biscuits onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart. Bake the biscuits for 12-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown on top and cooked through. (Optional) Brush the tops of the baked biscuits with extra melted cannabutter for added flavor and shine.

  7. Remove the biscuits from the oven and let them cool slightly on the baking sheet. Serve the warm biscuits with additional cannabis-infused butter, jam, honey, or gravy, if desired.

TIPS

• Brush the tops with melted butter before baking for a golden, flavorful crust.

• For extra flavor, add a handful of shredded cheddar cheese or a sprinkle of fresh herbs to the dough.
